LFS empowers participants with a comprehensive understanding of our community’s challenges and opportunities, while also providing broader knowledge of our region and the role future leaders can play as engaged citizens. Participants spend one Friday each month, outside of work, participating in customized leadership training and traveling within the city to learn about different aspects of the community.

In this role, I planned and implemented professional artist residencies in the Iowa City area for students, teachers, faculty, and the wider community. I also worked with area elementary schools to promote the Stage Door Series matinee educational performances for students. Other responsibilities included providing educational resources and connections for UI students and faculty, coordinating the group sales program, and partnering with the Iowa City Community School District as a team of the Kennedy Center Partners in Education Program.

Provided a foundation for managing membership of cultural organizations in the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City corridor. I also maintained the calendar of arts and cultural events, presented to area businesses and clubs, and maintained updated member and organization info on both JCCA and Cedar Rapids Cultural Corridor Alliance website.
