Hey, I'm Jess!Since I was young I have developed a passion for game design and have come to see it as such a unique art form that can connect and relate to people from all backgrounds. I loved escaping into immersive worlds or learning new things through gameplay experiences. It is important to me to be part of creating games that help and inspire players. On Hogwarts Legacy I worked closely alongside game developers to report and track thousands of issues to ensure a positive, immersive, and balanced experience for our future players. Our team regularly analyzed and reported on new playtester feedback – voicing what parts they may enjoy and what aspects they find difficult or unrewarding. I regularly coordinated with mission designers and engineers to ensure their intended game loop. I am familiar and well versed in tools like Jira, Confluence, and Excel to organize and express vital gameplay issues to developers efficiently and quickly. I am comfortable with reporting and troubleshooting a myriad of problems: visual issues, combat balancing, crashes/freezes, NPC behaviors, missions, etc.Additionally I have unique experience and passion for game design having worked as art director and designer on To Hell With It – a Hack ‘n’ Slash, “down the rabbit hole”- style adventure with 8–10 hours of gameplay for the University of Utah’s Master’s Game studio final project that is published on Steam. I personally concepted all main characters and created all 2D art including marketing assets and UI. I helped play test combat and platforming as well as assisted with narrative design. I also single handedly built and illustrated an educational branching narrative game for the Craig H. Nielsen Rehabilitation Hospital at the University of Utah.
