As Manager, I supported the quality culture of the University through broad yet interconnected activities. The University's Institutional Quality Assurance Process has three primary mandates: new program development; annual curriculum renewal; and cyclical program review. Each of these activities is driven by the program-level learning outcomes and their assessment. In effect, this means the goals of the program from the perspective of what students know, value, and are able to do upon graduation (how they are changed as a result of the program) and knowing how and where in the curriculum those knowledge, skills, and values are developed. Our approach to learning outcomes assessment and quality assurance was that they are stakeholder owned and driven. In providing day-to-day oversight of the quality assurance and assessment activities it was my goal to foster an environment in which the staff in the office could support and engage with the faculty and other stakeholders in meaningful ways. Similarly, I oversaw the research, development, and implementation of strategic academic initiatives arising from the University's Strategic Integrated Plan. This position enabled me to be aware of and make connections among various initiatives across campus to inform a coordinated effort towards the achievement of institutional goals. I was further responsible for the human resources related activities of the Office and for developing and implementing the Office's communications plan. I had the opportunity to participate in several conferences, both in Canada and in the United States on learning outcomes assessment. I was a speaker in a session at the Ontario Council on Quality Assurance's inaugural Key Contacts meeting in 2014 and was a presenter and panelist in two sessions at the Key Contacts meeting in 2015. I was on the planning committee for the Key Contacts meeting in April 2016. I was a participant in the Carleton Leader 3 program.

As Program Review Coordinator, I was responsible for leading and supporting the cyclical reviews of undergraduate and graduate programs in accordance with the University's Institutional Quality Assurance Process (IQAP). My main goal in this role was to support the faculty, staff, and students engaged in the review in ways that would ensure that the review was a meaningful process and fostered continuous improvement. My support was based on listening to stakeholder needs, educating them on the process, modifying the review templates in ways that were meaningful to the unique culture of the program and department while still complying to the high standards of the IQAP, and facilitating the collection of data, surveys, reports, and other information necessary for the review.

In this position I conducted research on various strategic academic initiatives on behalf of the Provost and Vice-President (Academic). I also conducted research on academic administrative matters and drafted several academic administrative policies that are currently in place at the University. I was further involved in the academic human resource management activities of the Provost's Office, including the preparation of letters for faculty appointments and leaves. I also drafted special correspondence on behalf of the Provost to students and faculty members in celebration and recognition of their achievements.

In this role, I developed interactive online training modules on quantitative methods aimed towards students in social sciences. This involved researching various statistical methods used in the social sciences, developing instructional content, and preparing appropriately challenging assessments. I self-taught Flash and Dreamweaver and used these program to develop and host the modules.
