As the first full time employee at Capabuild I've helped build our product from a pipe dream to a production-ready, offline-capable mobile app and web platform that helps emergency/restoration contractors save and restore damaged homes and businesses all across the US.I've done web development, mobile development, and become the de facto lead of our software's backend. I've spearheaded development of key features including e-signature and a cost-tracking platform, working directly with customers to ensure a quick turnaround and an effective product.At a small start-up I've learned to iterate quickly, getting something functional in customers' hands as the priority. I dig deep to find and eliminate whatever roadblocks we encounter, be they technical or rooted in communication and understanding, to make sure we solve the *right* problem as efficiently as possible.

I work as a part of the Computation Genomics Platform (https://cgp.genomics.ucsc.edu/) building open source software to enable collaborative genomic research.Early on I build open source tools for transforming and uploading genomic data and metadata. I became a core developer of Azul (https://github.com/databiosphere/azul/) the metadata indexer and query service used by the Human Cell Atlas project (https://explore.data.humancellatlas.org/) AnVIL (https://anvilproject.org/), LungMAP (https://www.lungmap.net/), and more. Azul takes disparate metadata schemas from various research institutions and makes genomic data accessible in a consistent and organized way, using Elasticsearch and serverless computing.I took on new responsibilities with the above mentioned research grants, developing data bridges between other genomic research platforms and maintaining cross-compatibility on large projects with stakeholders at different research institutions.
