My academic and early professional career as a journalist has lead me to produce and publish content on a variety of topics including sports, music, science, and politics. The format of this content is often equally as varied including videography, article writing, podcast production and more. While Ive developed the skills Ive listed primarily in the context of this journalism career I believe most of them are very applicable for other industries. For example strong writing, editing, and content creation skills are directly applicable to marketing or public relations. Ive also developed more generally applicable skills like interpersonal communication and time management.
