  • Open Systems International
Sr Project Engineer | Project Development Supervisor | System Engineer
Open Systems International May 2015 - Oct 2024
    Medina, Mn
Over time at OSI I've held the following roles and responsibilities: As a Systems Engineer, I tested our multi-server systems, developed and executed high user-count tests to really push our software to its limits, and build up our test library. Simultaneously, I developed multiple custom applications for internal and external use to further enable testing, inform teams of our product changes, and generally maintain departmental knowledge. On the conversions and builds team, I quickly became a lead developer to rebuild existing databases, displays, historical archives, and other vital infrastructure for clients. I continued to contribute to custom applications but began to focus more on the customer needs rather than internal needs, ultimately becoming a supervisor of the conversions team and our new department, Project Development. Project Development interacted with almost all new projects coming through the company, so we found new ways to build custom solutions quickly, while maintaining our own stable architecture which plugged neatly into the target architecture of the company overall.During the next couple of years, we saw lots of changes from business reorganization and company ownership changing. This has all been to facilitate growth in our organization and industry. OSI has always been about operations technology and is at its heart a software company. Now, under AspenTech, we continue to build and grow. My current role is Senior Project Engineer, in Professional Services. We are delivering complex, multi-year projects to meet the needs of international clients. As a technical project and product owner in the model management space in particular, I am excited to see what is next for the company.
