I taught an array of Biology, Environmental, and Earth Science courses both in-person (synchronously) and online (asynchronously) that I developed.

I assessed the drivers and functional impacts of different microbial community types in nearshore Southern California. I taught as the instructor of record for Environmental Microbiology and for Microbiology (two different upper division courses).

I served as both a researcher and a lecturer at UC Merced.As a researcher I assessed oxygen cycling and linked it with different environmental and biological conditions in a range of environments around the world. During this time, I took on a leadership role where I mentored undergraduates and fellow graduate students in the lab and field, organized and led several research trips to Palau, and served as a co-chief scientist for a research cruise off the coast of Mexico.As a teacher I taught classes in Environmental Microbiology (as the instructor of record), General Microbiology (as the instructor of record), Marine Science (as TA), Earth System Science (as TA), Ecosystems of California (as TA), Conservation Biology (as a TA), Biological Statistics (as a TA), and an Introductory Biology Lab (as a TA) and served as a course content developer for an Introductory Earth System Science Course. I also undertook an Assessment as Pedagogy and Planning Project in which I improved undergraduate test performance and perceived learning in an introductory marine science course by creating a community based inquiry environment.Finally, in 2016 I was awarded the School of Engineering Outstanding Teaching Award. I enumerated and sampled salmon swimming upstream to spawn, providing age and sex data about the spawning cohort. I also collected environmental and limnological data to supplement salmonid data and harvested gametes from select salmon for hatchery salmon production. Finally, I conducted education and outreach activities.

I built and repaired both manual and power wheelchairs and scooters. This included going to the home or hospital room of customers and diagnosing/fixing the issue. I would also build new chairs that customers ordered.

I assessed wildlife populations associated with natural areas surrounding various dams in New England. This involved live trapping small mammals, conducting bird point counts, mist netting and tagging bats, and collecting various environmental data. I also assisted with invasive plant removal from both lakes (Eurasian Watermilfoil) and terrestrial habitats (Garlic Mustard) and conducted educational and outreach activities.

I provided after school daycare for elementary aged children.

I designed and prepared labs, managed collections, cleaned and identified incoming donations.

I assisted with preparation of reports and proper record keeping.
