Responsible for cloud, data center, and enterprise networks. I lead a talented group of network engineers and together we're reshaping how CARFAX does networking.Our most important tool is our cohesion as a team with a well developed cadence of planning, huddles, social hours, retros, and deep Confluence documentation.We use F5, Silver Peak, NGINX, Infoblox, Cisco (ISE, WLC, route and switch), Palo Alto, AWS, and many other tools and technologies to keep vehicle histories flowing and enable development teams.

Full responsibility for end to end service delivery of all telecom products and services - voice, video, and internet. In telecom lingo I was responsible for "inside plant" (the teams and tech inside the central office) and "outside plant" (the teams that brought service through the last mile and installed it into your home).- Scaled up operations as customer count and our geographic footprint increased quickly.- Endless technology transformations (from DSL to Wave7 to Calix for example).

Direct responsibility for the technical operations for a full service telecom provider. The main challenge was a near non-stop evolution of technology across all of our platform - voice, video and data. As soon as a new-technology was in service, it was time to start planning the next generation.The modern telecom has to be always-on: we provided service to hospitals, law enforcement, school districts, large businesses, and residential. At Chariton Valley I learned to be creative about what can go wrong and how to mitigate those risks with proper planning.The scale of technology the modern telecom provides gave me broad exposure to technology and vendor relationships. It also taught me to hire for great people and not for technology skills sets.
