Hard work and Dedication. Willing to take a chance. I started my Walmart career fresh out of high school. Started out unloading trailers at a local Walmart warehouse. Took a chance there and became the Night/Weekend Data Processing operator. From there, I took another chance and moved to the Home Office as an entry level Mainframe Operations operator. I promoted through every technical role there and transitioned into leadership. After many years of being a successful leader in the Control Room, I took yet another chance and stepped out to lead engineering teams in the Mainframe Infrastructure area. With that, the future led to the responsibility of additional teams and new roles. Currently I'm the Director of Mainframe Engineering in a fast paced, super complex, mainframe environment. I love the challenges we get to solve every day, and most importantly, I love helping to grow people. I consider myself a Walmart Success Story - I started with a job at the warehouse, and turned it into an amazing career. All through hard work, dedication, and the willingness to take a chance. When I step away from work, I love spending time outside. Camping, hiking, biking, being on the river, or whatever else I can find. Being in the woods is my reset button, which we all need to make sure we have and use occasionally!
