As UX Lead, I collaborated tightly with Product and Development Teams to design mood boards, user flows and wireframes. I then swapped hats and worked in the trenches with the development team to effectively turn those designs from flat concepts to working HTML5, CSS and JS prototypes using Bootstrap and Material Design libraries. The prototypes were subjected to user testing as they were being created, and the findings were then used to further refine the prototypes. Live user testing, directing 5% of the 500k monthly user traffic to the test designs, will allow the designs to be further refined.

Lead visual designer and interactive designer for a three person UX design, research, and demo building team. We worked closely with developers and content to launch and support a new entertainment programming and scheduling platform that is used worldwide by cable TV providers, while simultaneously creating a hotel hospitality entertainment suite from the ground up, drastically improving the in-room infotainment product and experience for thousands of hotel rooms in Las Vegas alone.

As "The UX Guy" in Product Management, I lead all platform interface design, execution, and user flow improvements, working tightly with both Product Management and Developers to prototype and build the platform that saves advertisers and ad agencies millions of dollars each year by eliminating the need for redundant technology, overlapping analytics and exorbitant data fees across multiple content channels.

Led the design and solidified the information architecture of OView, Optaros’ media publishing and asset management web application. Played a key role in formalizing the User Experience practice; creating a flexible, repeatable process with lightweight documentation for all UX consultants.Designed and built more than fifty proof-of-concept demos to illustrate and expand the company’s core competencies, and land new business.Creative lead for redesigning the corporate website for easier content management, improved browser performance, visitor tracking, and accessibility.

Succeeded in redesigning the Job Seeker interface with simpler interactions, fewer steps for account creation, and improved formatting of job search results. My efforts resulted in less abandonment during the sign up process, and allowed the Job Seekers to quickly and effectively tailor their results to their individual needs. I continued to evolve the Job Search based on the customization data captured, turning frequently used options into default settings. Utilized our regularly scheduled user testing sessions to clean up or introduce simplified functionality into the Job Seeker platform every three months, improving browser performance, and significantly reducing job seeker complaints with Monster’s customer service representatives. Was part of the design and content team that won the 2006 Webby People's Choice Award for the redesigned Career Advice micro site. Worked tightly with multiple Project Managers, creating user flows, web design, developing and iteratively testing functionality.

Contract Designer in Monster's Product department, tackling the User Experience Design for the core of Monster's online products.

Designed and built a logistics and personnel management web application for the United States Air Force. This experience sharpened my understanding of accessibility and is how I became an advocate for the then-emerging web standards movement.The cross-browser and mobile application requirements of the project coupled with rapid development cycles made using web standards the logical choice.
