Member of the management team of the Department for Sustainability at NUS, with responsibility for supporting fourteen team members delivering Student Switch Off, an Ashden Award winning environmental behaviour change campaign, delivered to over 140,000 students at 50+ locations. Success based on ability to forge strong relationships with team members, understanding how our skills and experiences complemented each other, implementing a clear reporting system and being able to manage a complex workload with competing priorities when running up to ten simultaneous Student Switch Off campaigns, alongside line management of three Sustainability Project Officers. Variety of projects provided experience of a wide range of sustainable energy issues including energy efficiency, renewable energy and waste processing via Anaerobic Digestion.High level of initiative used in helping team members overcome day to day challenges of project delivery and developing the strategic direction of our projects. Project management of Degrees Cooler, a Defra funded environmental behaviour change programme delivered by the National Union of Students (NUS) (www.degreescooler.org.uk). Showcased organisational ability by simultaneously leading the three core environmental campaigns of Degrees Cooler, while also bringing new initiatives to the university and working with senior staff members to push forward existing projects. Confident communication of a positive environmental message across the institution to students, staff and senior managers, using a range of channels from formal and informal meetings and presentations to internal and external online, print and social media. Led successful Go Green Week campaign engaging hundreds of students with a wide range of levels of environmental awareness in range of activities including film showings, music events, debates and food growing events. Submitted successful business case to university management ensuring ongoing funding of the two most significant aspects of Degrees Cooler, Student Switch Off and Green Impact, in a very tight budget environment. Highly Commended in the StudentForce Education Sector Star of the Year Award 2011.

Responsibility for managing the organisation's membership database, tracking renewals and subscriptions. Represented the organisation at trade shows, community and educational events, influencing a wide range of stakeholders, including politicians, industry professionals and members of the public, successfully raising the profile of the organisation and awareness of our sustainability agenda, while increasing membership and attracting commercial sponsors.
