Ever since I was a child, I’ve been captivated by the details of how things work. I used to get in trouble for taking apart various electronics around the house even though I’d always put them back together again in the end. I love that feeling of truly understanding something that comes with knowing every little detail about it.Growing up I always knew that I wanted to do something regarding computers when I grew up. I’ve always found enjoyment as well as challenge in breaking a large problem into small pieces. I would take apart electronics every chance I got and loved the challenge of trying to figure out how they worked as well as putting them back together again afterwards. While my passion for computers and electronics was strong, after I graduated high school, I didn’t know what I wanted to do with computers, so I joined the Air Force to travel and take some time to find my way. During my time in the Air Force I took to building computers, and I lost track of how many computers I’ve built for myself, friends and family. It is absolutely captivating to be capable of helping create something from nothing. At the end when it all comes together you get the biggest sense of satisfaction because you created that piece of software from literally nothing but the concept of the problem. When my contract with the Air Force ended, I knew what path I wanted to take with my future Computer Science degree through programming and have taken every computer class possible.I am a full time Applications Programmer at University of California, San Diego, and I am looking to connect with other professionals who are focused on computer programming, software engineering and software development.
