As EWRRC Manager with the privilege of nearly eleven years of service to my rural community. I have experience collaborating to nurture community inspired and led activities to support adolescents, young adults, older adults, couples, families and younger youth. I have trained as a facilitator of Liberating Structures to facilitate a broad range of meetings and I bring an equity and right action lens to all of my efforts. I believe that when we center people and groups who have been oppressed by systems based in racist and ablest dominate cultures we better serve everyone. We do this by listening, learning, planning then acting and finally reviewing our results before beginning our next cycle to achieve goals. This has included both in person and virtual coalition formation for health services in our rural community without access to basic resources such as a grocery store or a doctors office. At the resource center I work to partner with our community, agencies and service providers to bring a variety of opportunities to improve health and well being including: dental, NAMI mental health support groups, ESOL classes, annual resource and health fairs, as well as continued youth programming such as Teen Time and Kids Days of Summer. My past work with youth who were experiencing homelessness as Youth Specialist allowed me to learn from youth what their needs and dreams were to help them achieve their goals through advocacy and connection to necessary resources. I believe people of all ages and stages of life have a role in helping a community be successful and find success is to be had when we welcome a diversity of skills, cultures and experiences into leadership roles.I am grateful to be of service and grounded in the understanding that everyone has wisdom to share; we are each worthy of dignity, respect, and nurturing. Personal interests include the natural world, plant identification, walking, reading, backpacking, family, dad jokes, poetry and meditation.
