Jessica is responsible for leading the Southwest Healthy Chicago Equity Zone to reduce the racial life expectancy gap and bring about greater health equity for all Chicagoans on the southwest side. In this role, Jessica supports community based organizations and leaders in developing hyperlocal collaborative tables and strategy that work to achieve goals of health equity and improve overall community well-being.

Jessica developed and now leads a collaborative that brings healthcare, behavioral health and social service organizations together with neighborhood schools in an integrated service-delivery model increasing access and coordination of care with the goal of improving overall community well-being, strengthening relationships between institutions and community members and the efficacy of institutions themselves.

Jessica's leadership of Burke Elementary, a Pre-K through 8th Grade school in the Washington Park neighborhood, centered community partnership, teacher leadership and the development of a strong, supportive and relational culture to move the school from Level 3: Intensive Support to Good Standing. She grew the school from a population of 220 students to a high of 470 students following Chicago's School Actions in 2013 and the merger of an 80-student Child Parent Center. She grew the staff from a team of 20 to over 60 while developing a strong, reciprocally supportive relationship between the school and community. Jessica led the organizational improvement reflected in the Chicago Consortium of School Research's 5Essentials Survey from Not Yet Organized to Well Organized.
