I'm a graphic design professional managing a 3 person team. I do design & illustration, but also work on marketing strategy & creative direction. As a creative director and project manager, my goal is always to meet the tight deadlines set for me while maintaining print integrity, & delivering on time & on budget to our national retail partners. Under Perrigo, the brand PetArmor was purchased and our design team was cut in half due to mass layoffs. I started then as the art director & project manager for the team. While art directing our current brands, I completely reworked the art process within marketing & regulatory to increase efficiency within the process & lead to less internal rework. After the process was established we moved from a store brand focus to a branded focus. I managed the tight timeline for the PetArmor redesign that Landor (an agency out of Cleveland) created. Offering constant brand insight & regulatory requirements, also art direction at the photoshoot for the most important brands in the line. I currently manage the PetArmor brand standards, helping marketing to effectively extend the line while staying within the brand standards we have agreed upon. As a designer, creating a strong brand that communicates effectively with the consumer is my favorite part of this job. As a creative director & project manager, my goal is always to meet the exceedingly tight deadlines set for me without losing quality work. I view designing within several departments as a challenge that only I can solve. Kind of a game. It’s the best when I can please everyone in the room, but that’s a tough bill. I usually settle for Marketing & Sales. PetIQ purchased Perrigo Animal Heath in July of 2019.

Working with copywriters, photographers, legal and regulatory teams, I led the packaging for flea & tick, dental, healthcare,& toys. I also managed the entire design & production of all supportive pieces. Running biweekly meetings with Junior designers, regulatory & marketing to manage the art workflow within the tight timelines provided. Attended multiple press checks to maintain print integrity for all of our packaging, meaning what you see on screen is what it looks like on shelf. Perrigo purchased Sergeant’s Pet Care during this time.

Worked in package designer for toys, dental, bird & small animal, house breaking, and aquatic. I also designed the toys for our dog line. I worked with our China vendors to create fun and innovative toys that still met our price point. I traveled to China to meet with the numerous vendors to accomplish this task. I learned a lot about how to design and explain the goal so that our vendors understood our needs. It vastly increased our efficiency. In 2010, I became the on staff illustrator for all instructional pieces and infographics.

Worked with marketing, communications & regulatory to create sell sheets, ads, & handled the bird & small animal packaging. I also assisted other designers when needed. I learned so much in a short amount of time.
