Use evidence based approach via the HFA model for preventing child abuse along with Growing Great Kids Curriculum. Focus on strength based approach to parenting and positive parent child interactions with age appropriate activities. Make referrals to community resources and connect with mental health and health care as necessary.

Assisted with tracking and spending grants from 9 Early Childhood Iowa boards to assist with providing training and support to child care providers in 10 Iowa counties.

To promote and support recreational opportunities for at risk youth with youth and community collaboration. All training came from the Iowa State of Promise AmeriCorps program using positive youth development techniques. Programs developed were the Special Olympics Young Athletes and Unified Golf programs, and a state of the art skate and BMX urban park was developed with youth participation and input. Youth also participated in monthly community improvement projects.
