I love to share stories that capture the mission and vision of non-profit organizations and inspire others to engage with and invest in this common vision. This communication is accomplished through grant writing, one-on-one conversations, relationship building, speaking engagements, newsletter writing and social media posts.My first job out of college was in community mental health; I spent six years as a case manager honing my assessment, communication and crisis management skills and deepening my understanding of what life is like for individuals in need, as well as learning to navigate the complex web of limited resources available to those living in poverty and facing mental health challenges.After dedicating the following twelve years to the wonderful and highly challenging work of being a full-time mom and home educator to four incredible children, I sought out ways to combine a service-focused approach to life with my writing and leadership skills. As an added bonus and passion, my nearly twenty years of experience coaching young women on the softball field strengthen my relationship and team-building skills and remind me that there is always more to learn.
