My nursing career began in pediatrics, and I chose that field because of my passion for family-centered care. As a pediatric nurse, I cared not only for my patient but also collaborated and offered compassion and empathy to their caregivers. I furthered my skill set in family-centered care as a public health nurse providing support, education, and resources to parents to help them and their children thrive. I am truly passionate about public health as a way to use the nursing process and provide intervention on a larger scale. This results in communities having the support needed to promote health and wellness of individuals, families, and the entire community.
