My role with the City of Joondalup as an Environmental Project Officer involves managing and promoting projects to encourage sustainable behaviour change across the community and organisation through projects such as the Native Plant Giveaway, WA Tree Festival and the City's Environmental Education Program. With this role I am also a member of the WA Sustainability and Climate Alliance (WASCA) working alongside other local government officers and organisations working to tackle large issues such as tree canopy and biodiversity loss. I also monitor and record the City's environmental resources and emissions, to advise on emissions reduction strategies on the pathway to net zero. I have recently completed a Diploma of Project Management with North Metropolitan TAFE alongside other communications and leadership courses.Completed my Master of Public Policy with specialisations in both Law, and Public Administration and Governance. Electives undertaken with a climate and environmental policy focus. Graduated from my Bachelor of Philosophy, Politics and Economics in 2021.I have gained experience within the policy business unit in local government with my work at the City of Joondalup. I have also gained experience working within a federal Parliamentary office as part of the Australian National Parliamentary Internships Program at Australian National University, as an integrated work placement during my studies at University of Western Australia.Also during my studies I undertook several other placements such as an Access and Inclusion Project Internship at Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES). This placement involved developing a project plan and communications materials for DFES to become a certified dementia-friendly organisation.My placement within the non-profit sector with homelessness and housing support organisation Indigo Junction was a Communications and Marketing role where I developed a communications plan and marketing materials for effective community education campaigns.
