I worked with a small team providing development support to the client's business, that's specialized in professional home services and EV installation planning.My role was to provided development/solutions for our client. I worked on the Management/Planning suite for appointments on professional services with home repairs, installations, and EV Chargers. As well, developed the Mobile App used by the client's professionals, to help make sure they are able to provide service to the customers. In addition, developed the system that would ingest customer leads for the business.Throughout our collaboration with the client, the business grew to support multiple ventures and we provided development support for 2 different business models within our platform.Planning and project management was an essential part of our development for the client, I helped with scoping out task requirements, feasibility, and estimation with my colleagues, as we followed the SCRUM methodology.The business management/planning suite was built with Python (flask) and MySQL in the backend, Vue.js for the frontend, on AWS infrastructure. I took part in developing for the entire stack (backend, frontend, devops, etc).The Mobile App was developed with React Native for both Android and iOS. I've developed various features for the apps, as well helped the integration to publishing and updating on the Play and App stores.The Customer Leads system used AWS Serverless features and I helped and maintained the system that would take API requests from the frontend and send to the business' ERP system.Documentation for the business on what we developed was done within Atlassian Confluence. I would provided technical details, behaviours, how-to/guides for all the features I delivered.

Working for various client and projects contracted to HighwayThree, the 2 main projects I took part in were:Plugin development on the Cantemo Platform, for various companies such as Disney and AOL.Cantemo uses Python 2, Django, Backbonejs, Reactjs, Vidispine, and PostgreSQL 8.Made various plugins to extend with: Angular 4, Reactjs, Vuejs, custom Python/Django modules.Majority of development was only myself or another co-worker with a company owner doing projectmanagement. Agile development with JIRA to keep track of stories, tasks, bugs, improvements, etc.Development with the DataBC project for the BCGov’s open data initiative (https://github.com/bcgov/ckanext-bcgov)CKAN (Data Catalogue) uses Python 2.7, custom front-end js modules, Solr, and PostgreSQL 9.2+.Agile-type methodology for development with Github’s Issues and Zenhub. While working on thisproject, made multiple contributions back to the CKAN open source project.

Camosun Capstone 2015Video Game News Website that features Youneeq's analytical recommendation engine for content generation.Current location: http://dagameboyz.comThroughout the 2nd year of the CST program, our team built a brand new website for Youneeq to replace their old website, Gameboyz. Youneeq gave our team full control and creative freedom to design and develop the website at our discretion, which we took full advantage of and are truly grateful for.The new website needed a starting point; our team and Youneeq agreed to use the popular content management system, Wordpress, as the base system for the website. Seeing that our team wasn't experienced at all with Wordpress, we were hesitant. Despite our initial pessimism, we became well-versed in working with Wordpress and our project is better because of it.The finalized version at the end of capstone included features such as the Front-Page gallery, article types for posts, social media account integration, social media article sharing, user profiles and comment system.

Comp199 is the 1st year end project for the CST program. The goal is to build a functioning e-commerce website that utilizes a shopping gallery, shopping cart and payment using paypal.Our project was based around a digital music store. Users would be able to preview, add/remove and purchase music on our website. The main component was the gallery. Users would be able to browse all the songs/albums that our website has available. We included a music player on our website that allows a user to listen to a song/album before purchasing. Once a user decides to purchase a song/album, they would be able to add it to the shopping cart. Once the user finishes adding/remove what they want to purchase, they would be able to pay for their items with paypal. We used paypal's APIs for payment at the time of purchase. For the purpose of development, we only used the dev sandbox paypal provides to test purchasing. Unfortunately, the server the website was being hosted on has been shutdown, however the code for the project is up on GitHub: https://github.com/jrods/comp199.
