Policy Research: Wrote over 30 policy papers on topics of concern to promotional product industry to include children's items, electronics (FCC, UN-38.3), food, drinkware/food contact, distribution into California (Prop 65) or other state laws, and various international regulations (EU's REACH, RoHS, EN-71, CE). These are being coupled with testing protocols provided by a 3rd party testing laboratory and then be provided to our suppliers and clients so that they know our requirements and standards.Implementation of Product Safety throughout company: This is a 2 pronged approach in reducing our risk. The first is narrowing of our supply chain with high risk situations and product categories (based on policy list above) through deeply understanding their compliance program and occasional and unannounced document audits of 3rd party tests. The second is setting a baseline of knowledge of product safety with our sales team in 2 classes; the first focuses on risk as a concept and how our buyers and outside sales managers as a team with the second going into a little bit of depth on understanding our highest risk situations (Prop 65, children's products, drinkware, electronics and international shipments).

Friends of the Children is a phenomenal nonprofit that pairs children with mentors from kindergarten to graduation of high school and has found huge successes in increased graduation rates, decreased teen pregnancy and incarceration rates. Our group was charged with recommending a new social media and pitch packet strategy in order to increase funding. Provided deliverables were pitch packets for three donor types along with a booklet of social media best practices.

Managed a cross functional team of instructors and clients in order to teach soldiers computer and communications technology. Created budgets and implemented plans for four 8 week training events, 100 soldiers, multiple agencies and $46M worth of Top Secret Equipment. The commission advises the City Council on environmental matters, usually pertaining to code development regulations. Additionally, I had the opportunity to advise the City Communications Director on an upcoming advertising campaign for a new recycling schedule change. As someone who is passionate about the environment, I found this opportunity to be fulfilling when my full time role was not in this area.

With money raised from the Student Sustainable Campus Fee, a bio-diesel generator was purchased to convert the school's kitchen grease to fuel used by the school's farm tractors. This reduced the costs incurred by the kitchen to recycle the grease legally and decreased the amount of fuel that needed to be purchased at the farm.
