I work in the Preschool Special Education Program where I evaluate 3-5 year old students and place them in appropriate educational settings based on their needs. I also draft evaluation reports (ERs) and individualized education programs (IEPs). Additionally, I host classroom visitations and IEP meetings. In September of 2012, I was also asked to coordinate kindergarten transition meetings for two school districts located in Chester County. As such, I am tasked with organizing large and small group transition meetings with eligible families and representatives from their designated school district. My interpersonal skills are helpful when meeting and working with families to create individualized education and transition plans for their children. Having the support of my experienced, knowledgeable, and creative coworkers and supervisors helps me to provide my students and families with necessary services in a proficient and pleasant manner.

While employed as an Itinerant Special Education Teacher, I worked with special needs students ages 3-5 years old in a one on one setting. I visited them on a weekly basis. My case load varied from 25-50 students per week in a variety of educational and home based settings. I also drafted and met with families regarding individualized education plans on a yearly basis or sooner if the multidisciplinary team deemed necessary. In addition to that, I managed the paperwork for 6 Chester County School Districts for students that received therapy services that were contracted out through other corporations. My organizational and people skills helped me to complete my work in a timely, efficient, and friendly manner
