I'm on the furniture team, which means I spend my days geeking out about what style a chair is or the construction of a cabinet. Sometimes this is easy-peasy, and sometimes it requires a lot of research. I also worked with the editing team on a regular basis, checking content, accuracy, brand consistency, and serving as a reference for teams.For several months, I was the person handling Comps; in that position I dealt with the back end of seller relations, researching fair market value for any items we damage and for items that a seller may have an issue with. The last year there, I was an Administrative Assistant to the Writing Studies Director and then the Department Chair. The Writing Studies position included responsibilities such as curriculum development and implementation, as well as performing instructor observations and serving as an instructor's resource and liaison between administration and students. The Department's Chair Assistance was a brand new position, an in it I did special departmental projects like cataloging department works and compiling them in a new reading room, and handling office and equipment inventory and assignment for the upcoming year. -

Fresh out of college and looking for something "adult," I became part of a great staff and got to learn about both medical businesses and about the human eye.I did regular office assistant work-- scheduling appointments, record maintenance, helping in exams (pretesting, medical history, the occasional special circumstance in an appointment), and communicated with patients and legal and medical offices. I also had the opportunity to streamline office operations, specifically in the reorganizing the records department and disposing of out-of-date records, and in closing an old branch.
