My childhood was set in West Virginia, framed by the Appalachian Mountains and the New River. Surrounded by nature's vitality, I have always been passionate about the environment, conservation and animal rights. I was granted the privilege of experiencing fine arts from a young age. In sixth grade, I made my theatre debut in Peter Pan as the leading lost boy. Theatre, performance and entertainment are integral pieces of my life.I graduated high school in a class of 54 students. I then committed to Auburn University upon receiving an academic scholarship, yet I had never visited the campus or been to Alabama. This daring decision led to a multitude of opportunities, challenges and experiences. I quickly morphed into a young professional confident in her abilities and talents. During my undergraduate studies, I was employed by the College of Liberal Arts as Head Student Recruiter, and I interned with the Auburn Chamber of Commerce. I was a member of AU Players, participated in community theatre and acted in a tv segment for Food Network. I graduated as a University Honors Scholar with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations and minors in Theatre and Business.My career in education includes my positions at Year Up and as an AVID Coordinator and Elective Teacher for Volusia County Schools, empowering students through education and professional development. Today, I am working within the school and community that raised me as the First Grade Teacher. I am happy to give back to a pivotal place in my development and in building my foundation in education. I continue to pursue writing and advocacy for the arts, conservation, sustainability and community.
