Responsible for grantmaking in Santa Cruz and San Benito Counties and portfolio-wide evaluation efforts within the Foundation's Local Grantmaking Program. Areas of grantmaking focus include arts institutions, homeless and domestic violence shelters, food banks, after-school programming (particular emphasis on academic enhancement, teen empowerment, environmental education, reproductive health and arts education).

Completed financial model and business plan for scalable energy efficiency social enterprise to employ hard-to-employ workforce

Expanded the number of buildings from which McKesson gathers energy and water usage data; Used GHG protocols to convert energy usage data to emissions data for publication in Corporate Citizenship Report

Lived with local family in rural village while teaching class sizes of 40 students in grade 8 and 9 in mathematics, physical science, and English. Managed the construction of rural kindergarten and secured USAID grant that enabled further investment in teacher training programs and materials in village and region. Secured donations of computers; designed and taught school and community computer basic skills course.
