Shot breaking new assignments, on-call and worked heavily with photography editor on creating assignments, toning photographs and assisting with fellow photographers. Shot several stories for print and slideshow multimedia presence online.

Summer intern for the Saginaw News in Saginaw Mich., a Booth newspaper covering the Bay and East side of Mich. Covered everything from breaking news to daily features, including working with fellow photographers, reporters and editors. Worked with staffers in creating soundslides for web presence. Utilized communication skills as well as meeting deadlines. Tremendous experience in working in a newsroom.

Served as a photography intern for two summers for Camp Quality Michigan, which provides a free week-long overnight camp for children with or affected by life threatening illnesses. Followed campers through daily activities, documenting all aspects of their week. Created daily displays of photographs and ultimately a camp yearbook was created with all photographs for campers to remember their week. Worked independently in selecting, editing/toning photographs.

Served as the photography editor at Central Michigan University's independent student-run newspaper. Guided several photojournalists, created assignments, toned photographs, worked with editors on content, and ensured deadline performance. Helped to create better photo presence and design in print editions as well as generating web galleries. Served as liaison between photographers and editors. Assisted photographers in selecting photographs, clarification on assignments and brainstorming. Worked heavily in creating visual design and connecting stories with art. All and all, a great experience.

Started my career and experience at Central Michigan Life, Central Michigan University's independent student-run newspaper as a staff photographer. Shot a variety of assignments and worked closely with fellow photographers and the photo editor to improve skills and learning to shoot on a daily basis.
