I partnered with the corporate recruiting team and hiring managers across the company to enhance nationwide recruitment efforts. This was achieved through the development and execution of sourcing strategies to identify top talent. In this role, I was able to gain a strong knowledge-base of technical recruiting by focusing on a variety of "hard-to-fill" positions.

In this role, I supported Burns & McDonnell's Construction-Design/Build group in various human resources capacities, including: recruiting, employee relations, interview coordination, offer letter preparation, communicating with hiring teams and candidates in a timely manner to manage expectations of the recruiting process on both sides, and ensuring a positive onboarding experience for new hires. Additionally, I played an integral role with streamlining HR processes for field personnel. In this position, I gained valuable experience in two HRIS tools: Oracle and Taleo.

Highlights from my internship at Children's Mercy:-Coordinated and communicated with families, patients, doctors and a production company to help execute a documentary on the hospital, which aired its first episode on Dec. 17th, 2014 on local television. At Veterans United Home Loans, I specifically focused on the Veterans United Realty marketing efforts. I created social media content for Facebook, Twitter and Google Plus. I also created content on emerging social media sites, such as Pinterest, which offers a unique way to market a company's brand. I did some blog marketing, and currently have posts published on the Veterans United Realty Network. The majority of my content was aimed at real estate agents, with the goal being to make them aware of the VA Home Loan benefit for Veterans. I looked at analytics and insights for both Twitter and Facebook and wrote up reports for my supervisor on how the Veterans United Realty Network could improve its social media presence.

As a Media Relations Intern at The Missouri Bar, I gained a lot of very valuable experience that I feel will benefit me in my future career endeavors. I wrote several press releases for conferences and events that The Missouri Bar held over the summer. I also wrote media advisories, memos, developed a social media report for the Board of Governors Meeting, researched different communication strategies, and began forming a two-tiered communication strategy for The Missouri Bar, which incorporated some of The Missouri Bar President's goals. Additionally, I filmed, took photos and updated social media for the conferences and events that The Missouri Bar held.

During my time at the Missouri State Capitol, I worked for Representative Sheila Solon who served the 31st District, which is the Blue Springs, Missouri area. I assisted with constituent services, which included writing letters congratulating students in the Blue Springs School District who had made honor roll or achieved something great. Additionally, I put together a weekly newsletter called the Capitol Report, which highlighted the different bills that Representative Solon was working on getting passed during the legislative session. It also highlighted other general things that happened that week. I gained an understanding of politics and how government works on a state level through my experience working during the legislative session. I was honored to receive a resolution from the Missouri House of Representatives at the end of my internship, thanking me for my contributions during the legislative session.
