As part of the Violence Prevention and Crime Victim Services Division, I administer the Address Confidentiality for Victims of Domestic Violence Act, Sexual Assault, Human Trafficking, or Stalking (750 ILCS 62/1 et. seq.). The Illinois Address Confidentiality Program provides survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and stalking with a substitute address to use instead of their home, school, or work addresses when interacting with State and local government agencies to help prevent perpetrators of violence from using publicly available records to locate victims.

Within the Policy Division of the Illinois Attorney General's Office, I monitored, analyzed, and researched proposed and existing State and federal legislation, laws, and regulations on a wide range of issue areas relating to the Attorney General’s policy agenda. Additional duties included: o Drafting fact sheets and memoranda for state legislators on legislative proposals and testifying in legislative committee hearings in support of initiatives of the Attorney General. o Developing materials synthesizing and explaining newly enacted laws for law enforcement officials and the Attorney General’s public education efforts. o Negotiating with government, nonprofit, and private stakeholders on proposed legislation. o Leading and participating in multi-agency implementation work groups and planning bodies for newly enacted legislation initiated by the Attorney General.

I completed legal research used by assistant attorneys general in the office's Policy Division in drafting and implementing policy initiatives and legislation in a variety of issue areas including sex offender management, domestic violence, long-term care, campus safety, and the regulation of methamphetamine precursors. I also responded to constituent inquiries regarding numerous topics including sex offender registration laws and residency restrictions, domestic violence, sexual assault, product safety recall, internet safety, and long-term care facilities.

o Implemented the U.S. Administration on Aging’s National Caregiver Support Program by developing agency policies and procedures as the agency's first Caregiver Specialist. o Investigated allegations of abuse and neglect under the Illinois Elder Abuse and Neglect Act and coordinated appropriate interventions. o Coordinated in-home services under the Illinois Community Care Program.
