I've worn a lot of hats at Scrum Inc and would call myself a hybrid of People Operations and Scrum Master/Agile Coach. Focused on taking our 11-person start-up to the next level from a cultural perspective by rethinking People Operations in a Scaled Scrum environment. In the past several years, I have been a part of the evolving development of our compensation and professional development practices, recruiting, hiring and onboarding, internal process, several reorganizations of our company, and more. Coaching and mentoring people is a passion as well. I love to co-train Scrum in HR courses in order to share my experiences marrying these two passions, I have a monthly blog on the Scrum Inc website (The PACT - People and Culture Team), and I have been referred to as the Soul of Scrum Inc. Being the Scrum Master at the company owned by Jeff Sutherland, Scrum creator, is an amazing opportunity. Our internal sales, marketing and Scrum transformation teams use Scrum to organize our work and focus on continuous improvement. Beyond typical Scrum Master activities, and since I have deep interest in culture, data and technology, I am also working to develop our People Operations at Scrum, Inc - using Scrum to manage our processes and technology to increase our efficiency - keeping our entire team focused, connected and nimble.

Scrum Master for NPR Digital Services development teams as well as project manager and liaison between development teams and the Station Relations group. • NPR Digital Services was undergoing a significant organizational overhaul late last year. The leadership team and strategic direction had been refocused and they were seeking an experienced agile coach to establish effective scrum process when I came on board. There had been no scrum master for several months prior to my start.• I evaluated the division’s strengths and weaknesses and incrementally implemented agile process improvement to increase job satisfaction and productivity for the software development team as well as the product team.• Since Digital Services is a very small piece of the NPR puzzle, I am able to support these development teams while looking for additional opportunities to utilize agile methodologies with other teams in the organization - including the station relations and the ops/networking teams. We have implemented Kanban practices to facilitate process improvements in both these areas within the last 6 months.• In addition to coordinating all regular scrum activities, the leadership asks me regularly to facilitate research and development brainstorming sessions as well as quarterly strategy development meetings.

• I joined the Noel Group (now BHTP) as one of their first 2 project managers. We were the trailblazers expected to initiate project and scrum processes where there were previously none. • Managed the development of this new company by helping all departments to organize their responsibilities and achieve a common goal. On May 1st of 2014 – our team launched Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection, a travel insurance company with a whole new vision of what insurance should be.• Worked with scrum software development teams to build a new customer website, iOS app, android app and backend insurance policy/claims administration system using Salesforce.com.• I have had opportunities to be in both Project Manager and Scrum Master roles as we developed our scrum framework. I love being a team motivator and have a great deal of experience with group facilitation.• Implemented basic agile practices in some areas of the company that are not engaged in software development. These include weekly stand-ups and the use of Kanban boards for task tracking with departments other than software development.• In January of 2015, I was asked to build a project management department and was promoted to Project Team Manager. I continue to work with company leadership and IT to define and streamline project processes and open channels of communication between the executive team and our IT core.• As we continue to implement agile practices within our PM team, we retrospect regularly to review our progress and look for new avenues of improvement. • Recognized as a Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Concierge "Leader Worth Following" in December 2014.• In addition to managing the PM department, I am also a "7 Habits of Highly Effective People" training facilitator and believe strongly in the practice of these habits.

• Started my career at Skyward as the Administrative Assistant in the Project Management Department. In only 7 years, I moved from that role to Junior PM, Senior PM, Project Management Team Leader, and then Project Management Branch Manager.• As a Project Manager, I was responsible for managing procured software implementation services for K-12 school districts across the US and abroad. Created project plans, conducted weekly status meetings with customers both remotely and onsite, coordinated resources, training, and conversions, and assisted school districts with issue resolution. I was the PM most often chosen to manage projects with special circumstances; such as districts in new states with unique requirements, very large school districts or consortiums, and districts in other countries. We had large workloads and were sometimes implementing 15+ districts at a given time.• As a PM Team Leader, I managed and supported a team of other up-and-coming project managers in addition to managing projects. Provided regular employee reviews and supported team members with issues and development.• As Branch Manager, I provided oversight of operations for the Project Management department including assigning new projects, assisting with the hiring and promotion process, involvement with budget decisions, and increased participation with acquiring new business and the RFP process.
