MoPOP is a leading-edge nonprofit museum, dedicated to the ideas and risk-taking that fuel contemporary popular culture. As Grants Manager, I led MoPOP's grant seeking efforts from research to reporting, all development communications, and impact data wrangling.

Sea Mar is a community-based organization committed to providing quality, comprehensive health, human, housing, educational and cultural services to diverse communities, specializing in service to Latinos. I wrote grants to support a variety of Sea Mar activities, including capital projects as well as health care and arts/culture programs. My work also included individual fundraising, corporate sponsorships, development communications, implementation and database administration of the Raiser's Edge, and project management of Sea Mar's two major annual fundraising events.

NCME (no longer in operation) supported the public media system nationwide in community engagement work at the local level. My work on this small, collaborative team included: managing major grantmaking programs; metrics, measurement and reporting; blogging, email communications, website copy writing/editing; project management; tool/resource development; research; and supervision of student worker staff.

The DCCAC is a public-private partnership between county government and local foundations that grants money to local arts, culture and history projects. While completing my MBA program, I worked with the DCCAC to: customize and implement a new online grant management system; rewrite all grant-related copy, applications and instructions; establish and maintain Facebook presence; design and implement a marketing plan for the annual art calendar; and support event planning.

The Wisconsin Book Festival is an annual multi-day literary arts event that draws around 15,000 attendees each year. While in my graduate program, I served as the main point of contact for all festival participants, managed the submissions process, wrote successful grants, established and maintained the Festival's Facebook page and more.

On a seasonal basis, I managed the Festival's volunteer program: recruiting, scheduling and leading a more than 200-person volunteer crew. As Box Office Manager I also hired, scheduled and led a staff of 10 in addition to performing customer service and troubleshooting as needed for Festival attendees.
