Jess has served and worked in the Texas legal community for over 30 years. Today, he leads Reagan Moore PLLC, a fully virtual and distributed law firm that delivers high-quality estate planning services throughout Texas. Previously, he maintained an estate and succession planning practice that attended the needs of entrepreneurs, medical and legal professionals, and a multi-gen family office. Prior to practicing law, Jess co-founded Ad Hoc The Legal Placement Company, a niche legal recruiting and interim/temporary staffing firm that serviced 1000+ law firms and corporate clients on four continents. Jumping ahead of the curve in the “contract attorney” placement model, his firm was the first legal staffing company in the U.S. to fully-employ attorneys and place them as its employees in temporary roles with its clients.In the 1990’s in private equity partnership with Warburg Pincus, Jess and a senior management team expanded the largest privately-held alternative dispute resolution (ADR) company in the U.S. beyond California to five Texas cities, Georgia, Florida and New York. Today, the company is the world's largest private ADR provider, with a panel of more than 400 attorneys and retired state and federal judges, resolving 18,000 matters annually. Early in his career, Jess served as Executive Director of Jury Services for Dallas County, the only county in Texas in which the oversight of the jury system was then not vested in an elected office. Appointed by a board of state district judges, Jess at age 24 completed the conversion of the eighth largest jury system in the U.S. to the current one-day/one-trial and standby juror formats. During his tenure there, he taught courses in Texas and American politics at Dallas College. He began his career in public affairs as a junior strategy associate in both campaigns that led to the creation of Dallas Area Rapid Transit Authority (DART).
