The Boards of Directors for tech platforms are often controlled by venture capital investors, without worker or user representation. The Ampled board of directors differs in that it is a decision-making body made up of elected representatives from each stakeholder class (workers, artists, and community members). The elected representatives serve as stewards of the interests of each stakeholder group and the overall platform.

Start.coop exists to power up the next generation of co-op entrepreneurs. Through our tailor-made accelerator program, we help founders build thriving businesses that share wealth with their workers and communities. Over time, our goal is to unleash the potential of this viable alternative to winner-takes-all capitalism and build an economy that shares prosperity among the many, not just the few.Since getting started in 2019, we have accelerated 27 start-ups, including The Driver’s Cooperative which recently became the US’s largest worker cooperative and Savvy Cooperative which was the first cooperative to receive VC funding, have developed and spun out a $2m equity fund for shared ownership, and have generated significant national press coverage.As Executive Director I am responsible for the administration, operations, fundraising and management of the organization. Working alongside the Founder, I also co-lead and co-manage the Start.coop accelerator, with a particular focus on overall strategy, program design, gender and race equity, entrepreneur recruitment, and entrepreneur coaching.

Advised the Founder on strategy, growth, design of the accelerator program, and gender and race equity. Taught and coached entrepreneurs who participate in the accelerator on a wide range of topics including creating an impact-driven business, building a life of purpose, design thinking, and equity.

Served on core faculty group responsible for the design of the curriculum and programming for a national leadership fellowship program. Developed and deliver skill-building workshops to empower Fellows to innovate, maximize impact, and achieve measurable goals. Served as advisor and mentor to a select group of Fellows, providing individualized coaching support to help them take a human-centered and design-driven approach to program and system change.

At The Social Impact Studio, we partnered with non-profit, foundation, and government clients to first imagine and then build a future in which they create bigger and bolder impact. The Studio has deep expertise applying and adapting design methodologies in the social sector. Our client list includes: American Heart Association, Harvard University, Foster America, FUSE Corps, Fundación FEMSA, Inter-American Development Bank, Independent Sector, LEGO Foundation, The ONE Campaign, Sesame Workshop, The World Bank, United Way, and others.

Instructor, facilitator, and coach of human-centered design for private, public, and social sector organizations.Clients have included: The U.S. State Department, The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), JEVS Human Services, Universidad Regiomontana.

Taught “Applying Design Thinking to Complex Social Challenges” for senior policymakers and civil society leaders.

Managed a portfolio of complex global projects in the social impact space, including:--- Oversaw the design, planning, fundraising, and ongoing implementation of two social innovation labs in Brazil and Mexico (US$3mil budget)--- Developed and directed revenue-generating executive leadership program to mobilize, engage and connect senior international policymakers and civil society leaders, resulting in over 200 new leaders trained in child development and 33 action plans for new programs and policies --- Developed and managed a 3-year, six organization Harvard-Brazil partnership (www.ncpi.org.br) that has become a national reference for child development in Brazil Served as technical expert and organizational lead for design strategy, focused on the application of various approaches to innovation to increase the impact of the Center’s portfolio of work (including but not limited to human-centered design). Co-led Center’s impact evaluation task force responsible for developing and implementing an organization-wide system of collecting and deploying measurable indicators of impact

Conducted qualitative field research on children's and families' experiences in two community-based early childhood programs in Cambodia and the Philippines. Served as early childhood development subject matter expert and provided strategic and technical assistance to organizations’ executive and program staff. Published and presented research.

Conducted policy research and analysis and drafted national policy on play for stakeholder consultations and subsequent implementation in home, school, and municipal settings.

Developed strategy and identified key opportunities for operational growth in international settings. Led the planning and development of early childhood curriculum and professional development pilot initiatives to strengthen policy, service provision and systems in South America, The Middle East, Australia and India. Led the proposal development and budgeting process including financial modeling of projects ranging up to US$5mil. Prepared and delivered presentations about early childhood education for conferences and seminars of multilateral organizations, national Ministries of Education, and state Departments of Education.

Designed and conducted a qualitative research study on national curricular policy in post-crisis Argentina, including literature and case study review, analysis, and synthesis and semi-structured interviews with upper-level government functionaries and prominent academics.
