I have processed over 250 MAT-LINK data submissions and provide technical assistance to MAT-LINK sites for failed data submissions. This involves identifying and resolving issues related to data submissions in SQL server and ensuring that the database is functioning properly. By using my expertise in SQL server, I am able to quickly diagnose and fix any errors or issues that arise, ensuring that the data is properly stored and accessible for analysis. This also involves providing technical support to end-users who may encounter issues with data submission or retrieval. Additionally, I serve as an alternate facilitator for MAT-LINK meetings.

During my time as a TB data manager, I was responsible for overseeing the preparation, submission, and maintenance of medical records for local, state, and federal agencies in order to prevent and surveil TB outbreaks. In addition to my primary responsibilities, I also served as a data expert for COVID-19 vaccine analysis. I utilized Tableau software to analyze data on over 6 million COVID-19 vaccines and created an epidemiological report that identified vaccination disparities in 37 counties within Texas.Part of my job also involved providing training documents to staff for analytic and information tools implemented within the region. I utilized my informatics knowledge to design and implement health information technology applications that resolved clinical or healthcare administrative problems. This required me to be knowledgeable in various health information technology systems and stay up to date on changes and advancements in the field.Overall, my experience as a TB data manager allowed me to hone my skills in data management, analysis, and informatics while also contributing to important public health initiatives in Texas.

As part of the Engineering and Installations Squadron, I was responsible for overseeing the design, installation, and maintenance of critical IT infrastructure for the Air Force. This included managing network systems, servers, and software applications, as well as ensuring their security and performance. During my Blue Ribbon Internship with the Texas Department of State Health Services, I had the opportunity to lead a qualitative research project examining the public health core competency levels of members within the Public Health Region. As part of this project, I developed a database to input data from competency assessments and analyzed the results to identify areas for improvement. Based on my analysis, I developed a public health professional training rubric and identified public health training resources for organization staff. I provided competency results to 120 members and developed a final report outlining the findings of the qualitative analysis and recommendations.In addition, I had the privilege of presenting my findings and recommendations to DSHS leadership, where I received positive feedback and recognition for my contributions to the organization. Overall, my experience as a Blue Ribbon Intern allowed me to gain valuable skills in research, data analysis, and project management, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have made a meaningful impact on the public health community in Texas.

During my time as a Public Health Technician in the United States Air Force, I was responsible for managing the communicable disease program. One of my main duties was to educate more than 12,000 individuals on infectious diseases, which included providing information on transmission, prevention, and treatment. Additionally, I conducted over 400 interviews for the Norovirus outbreak, which required me to effectively communicate with patients and conduct thorough investigations to identify the source of the outbreak. As a public health expert, I also briefed providers and medical staff on health trends to ensure they had up-to-date information on emerging diseases and prevention measures. Patient data management tools were also utilized to collect and enter statistical data into databases, which helped to track disease trends and identify areas that needed more attention. Additionally, I crafted promotional materials and other informative data that were provided to print media to educate the public on public health topics.In order to support the development and execution of special community events, I devised and integrated training for public health professionals to ensure they were equipped to handle the needs of the community. My work in public health allowed me to contribute to the overall health and well-being of the community, and I am proud to have been a part of such an important mission.
