As a senior delivery lead I worked within the Infrastructure/Middleware space where my first responsibility was to lead the Cloud Orchestration and System Stabilization program of work. The program was comprised of 5 projects each one adding stability, structure and operational effectiveness to the way the bank delivers its digital products across the Unix/Linux space.I was required to work across multiple teams in several roles sometimes as a project manager but also as a scrum master, security analyst, business analyst. Some of the activities:Project managing small to large projects across multiple teams both technical and business to ensure alignment of activities and deliverables. Example, leading the evolution of the Atlassian suite of tools as enablers to assist in the Agile Transformation for BNZ. Scrum master for multiple teams running daily stand-ups, fortnightly retrospectives, weekly backlog refinement meetings and participating in daily scrum of scrums. Security analyst working with internal and external security consultants to improve and mature the BNZ security framework. Including sourcing vendors for various types of testing and reviews, then leading the follow up remediation with teams to ensure the banks systems were secure and met the standards of the bank. Business analysis of what was called the Road to Green which is a high priority project to ensure that all systems across the bank were updated with the latest security patches to ensure that all identified vulnerabilities were either mitigated or that plans were put in place to ensure they would be. Cloud based initiatives. I worked on the implementation of Microsoft Azure helping the team work towards a landing zone for application deployment and also assisted in the early stages of implementing a landing zone for the Amazon cloud platform.

The purpose of my role is to help manage the IT portion for the wider WCC in the lead up to a move to a new building. As part of the move the Executive Leadership Team would like to incorporate activity based working which has a dependency on technology with regards to mobility. I will also assist in the evaluation and selection of new devices and new software that allow staff to be more mobile in the way they work including meeting room devices and meeting room booking and management software.Part of the role also has oversight of the cabling and data connection to the building and the introduction of a generator for business continuity.

The Web Services team is responsible for the technical delivery of the Ministry's corporate web platform which includes externally and internally facing digital products. During my time at the Ministry I have grown the team from a content delivery and advice team to a fully functional development and delivery team. Using modern technology and techniques the team delivers cost effective timely web solutions due to an open source type philosophy always aiming to deliver early and adapt and improve as we learn from our users (continuous improvement).I've also had the opportunity to lead strategic projects the most recent being the delivery of a new intranet across the organisation which was coupled with the delivery of a digital collaboration and project management solution.The Web Services team have continued to deliver high value to the organisation recently delivering websites across the Education sector including the successful delivery of Education.govt.nz and websites for the Tertiary Education Commission and the Education Review Office.The team are now leading the drive to follow the Government's Cloud First approach building valuable skills experience in the use of the Amazon Web Services platform being the first perhaps across Govt to integrate AWS into the very fabric of the software development life cycle (SDLC).
