This position is responsible for the coordination of the Minnesota’s Retaining Employment and Talent After Injury/Illness Network (RETAIN) Program. RETAIN is a $19.5 million collaborative project with federal and state partners, with the goal to help individuals affected by an illness or injury stay employed with accommodations and/or return to work. This program provides an opportunity to be part of a national economic recovery as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, and ensure a resilient and sustainable workforce for the state. Minnesota is one of five states in the nation selected to implement the program.

- Responsible for project management and grant administration of Minnesota’s State Dislocated Worker program. Areas of work: Small Layoff Independent Grants, Mass Layoff Projects, and National Dislocated Worker Grants- Responsible for ongoing analysis and evaluation of grant projects to ensure fiscal and programmatic compliance - Collaborates and problem solves across multiple lines of services with grantee and strategic partners- Develops reports and other communication materials for senior leadership and the U.S. Department of Labor

In this role I secured funding opportunities for the Wilder Center for Communities (WCC). Through leadership programs, volunteerism, convening, and community initiatives, WCC helped to develop the next generation of engaged and involved residents in order to address vital community issues.

The primary duties of the Grants Systems Coordinator are to:•Develop system to track Foundation grants to teachers and nonprofit Tutoring Partners•Design and coordinate grant writing resources and workshops for Teachers•Promote Foundation grants to new applicants with an emphasis on supporting diversity of teacher grant applicants•Research prospective major grants for the Foundation and assist with writing and submission.

During my time as a New Sector Summer fellow I consulted with the HR department of the Science Museum of Minnesota. Over the course of the Summer I created new systems and processes to support a newly reimagined internship program at the Museum.

- Conducted data analysis that improved fundraising performance - Experience coordinating and staffing fundraising events for both national and regional political organizations and candidates - Skilled in data preparation, cleaning, and compiling datasets - Proficient in the use of the NGP VAN database, used by the vast majority of progressive and democratic organizations
