Since January 2024, I have been a Peer Mentor for undergraduate courses in Information and Networking Security, Digital Forensics, and, beginning in Fall 2024, Artificial Intelligence. I have mentored both large classes of over 80 students and smaller groups of around 30, ensuring tailored support across different learning environments. My responsibilities include:- Facilitating students' understanding of complex topics, such as encryption, network protocols, digital forensics techniques, and artificial intelligence algorithms, through one-on-one and group tutoring sessions.- Assisting professors with the administration and proctoring of exams, ensuring academic integrity and smooth test operations.- Grading assignments and providing constructive feedback to help students improve their technical skills.- Serving as a liaison between students and professors, offering guidance to enhance overall course performance and helping address individual student challenges.

I develop and maintain front-end decision support tools for government and aviation partners, focusing on enhancing Air Traffic Control (ATC) operations. My work includes creating user interfaces that integrate backend systems to help ATC make data-driven decisions. Notable projects include:- Developing a decision support tool's frontend to visualize flights, weather products, and Contrail Detection Polygons (CDPs), helping ATC reroute flights to avoid CDPs and weather, minimizing delays and costs for airlines.- Building a front-end application that enables ATC to input parameters for simulations and present simulation results in a user-friendly, intuitive format.- Expanding an existing tool to fetch and parse ATC advisories for FAA and AirCanada, extracting critical information and formatting it for seamless integration into simulations.

At Time By Ping, I completed the following:- To aid in the transition of oldest clients of Time By Ping from legacy software to the latest product, I implemented the Notes feature for timekeepers to communicate notes to the billing department and the Temporary Matters feature to aid in the assignment and management of temporary matters for lawyers at the firm.- To help prospective clients to see the value of our product, I developed a calculator that estimates savings a client can expect based on user input that is located on the new Time By Ping website.- To aid user comprehension of errors, I updated seven of the most common error logs for the desktop application according to data gathered through our error logger.- To aid QA at Time By Ping ensure that our product is accurately performing as expected, I updated two API tests to include accurate mock requests and responses based on updated data models.

At YouDitto, I completed the following:- To increase the responsiveness of our landing pages, I removed our dependency on Bootstrap for specific CSS styles, leading to a 131 KB bundle size reduction, and implemented NEXTJs Server-Side Rendering to speed up Time To Interactive on throttled connections from 3.5s to 1.5s and Time To Interactive for high-speed connections from .75s to .55s.- To make the site accessible for most users, I followed the WCAG and WAI-ARIA best-practices to conform to the AA WCAG standard through use of semantic HTML, screen-reader testing, contrast-checking, Lighthouse, mobile-first design principles, and other tools to create more appealing and accessible landing pages.- To provide users with the ability to interact with the application, I designed and implemented the frontend of the portal of YouDitto with an emphasis on mobile-responsiveness and modularity through the use of React Native for use on Web, Android, and iOS.

At the Hilton Garden Inn (HGI), I completed the following:- I achieved a customer satisfaction rating of 4.96/5.00 by the time I was laid off.- To provide customers the best experience at the hotel, I manned the front-desk to check in customers in an efficient manner, stocked and organized the facilities (pool, business center, lobby, gym, etc.), reported maintenance issues and assisted maintenance staff on some repairs, and attended to customer requests at the front-desk.

As a resident assistant at Northwestern University, I completed the following:- To ensure the safety and compliance of 25 students in my building, I regularly monitored the building, handled disputes between roommates, provided monthly programming, and held quarterly mental health checks and meeting.- To ensure safety and compliance of the approximately 1,500 students in the Southwest Residential Region (SW), I handled RA-on-Duty Calls for SW for 30 days of the school year which included emergency calls and maintenance request submissions for the 24 hours I was RA-on-Duty and managed the SW area desk for 8-hour shifts where I would assist students dealing with lockouts and assist guests with checking in to the building.- To foster community in the Southwest Residential Region, I led 12 community engagement activities with on-campus partners and participated in 20+ activities as a leader or facilitator.

At Prince Castle, I completed the following:- To aid in the shipping of a new toaster for use at McDonald's, I identified and corrected seven key bugs in the firmware affecting flash memory.- To aid the company in the transition of inhouse development, I taught two team members on software development team how to use Git and Github.

At the Segal Design and Manufacturing Laboratory, I completed the following:- I learned the proper usage, maintenance, and repair of various tools and machines in the laboratory.- To ensure students using the equipment were safe and completed projects, I trained classes of up to 20 students on the proper usage of machines and how to perform multiple tasks including milling; lathing; soldering; welding; sanding; sawing using band saws, circular saws, and jig saws; waxing; and many others.
