I like to consider myself a bit of an entrepreneur. My business is quite simple, as of now, I cut the lawns of up to 5 neighbors in my neighborhood, currently looking to expand for not only more neighbors but more services as well. In my time working in my business, it has assisted in the development of entrepreneurial skills and problem solving. It's one thing trying to learn it in class but is a completely different task when you go out into the real world and apply it. As a result of this I have been able to work on my time management skills as well as my communication skills with the homeowners and potential clients.

In my position as a junior DevOps engineer, I mainly work with Amazon Web Services, more specifically AWS CloudWatch, SNS topics, Lambda, and IAM roles. Using these services I am able to created custom metric filters to identify and troubleshoot issues, as well as monitor API health and performance. I also have assisted in creating RSA client keys to enable secure access to AWS VPN Client, for multiple members of my team.Working in this position has continued to improve my team building skills, especially since this is a remote job. On top of remote working, I have learned to use documentation and resources to further improve my technical skills and complete tasks.

I came into Action Title Research as a Marketing Technology Intern and quickly became exposed to new software's like Canva, Basecamp, and Mailchimp. It was during this time I found out how quickly I am able to learn new work practices. I was then put in charge of creating a website inventory so that the marketing department could keep track of the 60+ pages we have created, and eventually I was in charge of using Word Press to create 30+landing pages and update existing pages. Seeing how quicky I was getting the hang of the usual routines, I was then put on learning SugarCRM and creating campaigns and lead forms so that I could share the given HTML and actively use the forms. Eventually, I concurrently began working with the DevOps team with testing certain items and reporting any issues that I was able to identify. On my latest project, I was put in charge of implementing a code coverage tool to measure how effectively our QA code was. While working the QA team, I became introduced to TestNG and Selenium, with Java, and it sparked my interest to learn more about it.Working here has ultimately taught me real world team collaboration in a remote work setting and time management, which to me is just as important as learning new software and practices.

I was originally hired to assist in the organization and production of the shop, but displayed versatility learning multiple new skills. From learning how to operate heavy machinery and power tools, to the assembly of meter poles. Before I got there, production was steady at 30-40 meter poles per day. After I began working at Meter Loops and Power Poles, I helped increase production to 40-50 meter poles per day. I also operated the fork lift to organize our work place, as well as unload shipments that arrived up to three times a week.

Working as a camp counselor for Lamar High School, not only was I looking after the kids and engaging in activities with them but I was teaching and leading children ages 5-12 years old the value and moral system. I taught them single everyday things like sharing, being nice to each other, and most importantly keeping your hands to yourselves. Working here taught me great leadership teamwork skills, seeing how I had to work with 5 to 6 other workers taking care of over 50 kids each day. Aside of just taking care of the kids, I also helped train 5 of the 10 new employees on camp standards and procedures seeing how they've never worked with kids before.
