Current• As appropriate, provides counsel to the State Director in all financial and state operations matters.• Oversee the operational planning including annual planning and quarterly planning.• Identify, investigate, analyze, and recommend alternative solutions to a wide range of financial issues, including financial systems and processes and including the use of Tableau for financial reporting purposes. • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to contribute to and influence planning and decision-making related to financial and state operations.• Interpret and report budgetary expenditures to management. Provide advice on effective use of resources and resolution of financial discrepancies, including variance reports.• Successfully implemented Salesforce to manage our CRM in the AARP NY State office.• Invited to participate in a pilot for a new Tableau tool to track financials.• Participating in a job framework initiative whereby a handful of Managers are tasked with reviewing the job framework to ensure all divisional jobs are captured appropriately. • Presented my findings to management in the roll-out of the MS Teams pilot.• Hire, manage, and develop a team of four direct reports.• Implemented a new structure and capacity for the NY operation staff optimizing the state office operations team to maximum efficiency.• Initiated a mandatory procurement, office of general counsel, and sponsorships training for the AARP NY Staff. The training was rolled out nationwide. • Manage purchasing activities including negotiates and reviews and approves letters of agreement, contracts for AARP and grant proposals, and contracts for services.
