Volunteer supporting the Town of Simsbury's Water Pollution Control function. The Simsbury WPCA meets monthly to discuss treatment plant & sewer issues, establish user rates, and review & approve the capital & maintenance budgets.

The Connecticut Association of Water Pollution Control Authorities is a group of members dedicated to improving, enhancing knowledge and understanding the interests of publicly owned/operated WPCA's or Wastewater Management entities within the State of Connecticut.This non-profit Association strives to achieve the following goals: (i) organizing and sponsoring seminars and conferences on topics relevant to public water pollution control and wastewater management entities; (ii) organizing informal networking meetings for members and managers of such entities; (iii) educating, consulting with and lobbying governmental officials concerning public policy issues affecting public water pollution control and wastewater management; and (iv) generally assisting public water pollution control and wastewater management organizations within the State of Connecticut.

The New England Water Environment Association and the Water Environment Federation believe that individuals and groups should be recognized for meritorious achievements in our industry. Awards are given in a variety of categories: safety, engineering, operations, public education, public relations, management, collection systems, laboratory expertise, and service to the organization. Some of these awards are offered through WEF, and others are recognitions from NEWEA.

The Connecticut Water Pollution Abatement Association was established in 1966 by a small group of dedicated professionals in the Wastewater Treatment field. The CWPAA goals are to protect our valuable water resources by promoting and encouraging opportunities in the field and to provide continued enhancement to the image of Water Pollution Control Professionals.The CWPAA is an affiliate of NEWEA and brings a nationwide prospective to the broad array of topics in the environmental fields in the Water Environmental Federation (WEF).

Chair of the NEWEA Utility Management Committee focusing on utility issues such as: capital & asset management, emergency response, workforce/labor issues, succession planning, leadership, regulatory/government affairs, capital funding, etc. During my tenure we successfully formed the "New England Utility Council" which is a coalition of New England utilities joining together for a stronger voice on regional regulatory issues.
