• Leading joint-development of a multi-stage payload deployment system for an in-atmosphere rocket, taking the product from concept design to verification and deployment.• Tasked with organizing and designing the implementation of an Arduino microprocessor that communicates with the on-rocket payload via I2C, processing on-board measurement systems via software, and transmission of this data via UART radio to the ground station.• Conducted trade study analysis of payload deployment and reefing techniques, evaluating complexity, weight, and cost.• Competed in the international CanSat competition, where we successfully tested, verified, and launched the payload on the rocket.

• Designed, synthesized and implemented VHDL firmware components using Xilinx Vivado into a base firmware and further into software system utilizing Xilinx Vitis.• Debugged and tested firmware components with C unit tests to ensure success and efficient GPIO communication through the on-board ARM processor.• Formulated a new system for this firmware and software that allowed for integration of these RTL components into the main EDM design while utilizing firmware accelerators, AES, SHA, and GCM components.

• Provided software development assistance on a research and development project (iEncrypt), used to facilitate militaryencryption across numerous technologies.• Created firmware components in VHDL to enable the use of the on-breadboard LED’s.• Debugged a security encryption program to allow for a more efficient allocation of memory.• Implemented company procedures and processes into projects and pushed changes to a Git repository on a private network.
