The Ombudsman is the appointed representative of the Commanding Officer (CO) that serves as the information link between command leadership and command families, as such Ombudsmen are an official command representative of the command and a point of contact for command families. The Ombudsmen helps the CO gain an insight to the pulse of family members and issues of concern. The Ombudsmen disseminate information both up and down the chain of command, advocate for the command families, as well as provide access to the appropriate level of the chain of command for necessary intervention, forwarding grievances, or reasonable requests, as well as a point of contact for emergencies, disasters, or crises all while maintaining strict confidentiality.

The Ombudsman Assembly Chair acts as the leadership poistion for the area Ombudsmen. The Chair holds, leads and conducts monthly meetings to enusre program knowledge, dissemination of offical information to the Ombudsmen network and command leadership, as well as addressing community wide issues of concern. The Assembly Chair also provides leadership and mentorship to the local area Ombudsmen. The Assembly Chair works closley with the Ombudsman Coordinator, Ombudsman Program Manager, and Fleet and Family Director.

The Command Leadership Spouse Course mentor shares insights and experiences with military spouses whose service members are about to assume the CO/XO role at their next duty station. The spouse mentors guides team building and leadership exercises as well as provide support by answering questions, and referring correct resources.
