Program Manager (PM) in the Planning, Analysis and Requirements Evaluation Directorate for the Department of Homeland Security where I am instrumental in the requirements and acquisitions of equipment for day-to-day operations. I support the planning, coordination, and execution of various projects or programs by reviewing documentation and verifying that the proposal meets the capability requirements, as well as perform requirements analysis for equipment acquisition, operational testing, and implementation.

As a financial coach I help people understand the basics of personal finance – from crisis situations and budgeting issues, all the way to saving and investing for retirement – and help them develop and maintain healthy financial habits. I also empower them to reach their financial goals and learn how to handle their finances responsibly. Bottom line is that I show them how to win with money. Currently I facilitate Financial Peace classes for various components in the federal government.

Chaplain As a chaplain I provide a resource for spiritual guidance, counseling and assistance to officers, agents, other employees, and their immediate families in both crisis and non-crisis situations. Chaplaincy training included instruction on the history of chaplains, legal aspects, confidentiality, relationship issues, crisis management, and death notifications. The training also included practical exercises, situational scenarios, critical incident scene management, and crisis intervention.The service of chaplains in the United States has a rich history that dates back over 250 years when Colonel George Washington requested a chaplain for his regiment. Washington saw then that the work of a chaplain is an essential component of a spiritually sound organization. The program is unique in that chaplains serve in dual roles as officers and spiritual counselors.

As an Intelligence analysts I identified and analyze and documented threats and challenges and created reports to inform upper management if observed trends so that they could make better-informed decisions.

As a CDI in the Supervisory Development Branch, I have delivered various leadership lessons to first time supervisors, which equips them for service to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). These programs help to build the employee, both personal and professional, while providing guidance on the work-life-balance. The program also incorporates team building exercises and techniques for employee (direct reports) development.My major duties and responsibilities are: assists in planning, executing, and preparing personnel for their transition from into supervisory leadership. This leadership training identifies places for potential improvements, and also gives a courses-of-action which the personnel can take to implement the improvements. I also assists in organizing and planning the delivery of approved training, develop training schedules, review current curriculum (technical materials and training aids), ensure that the training given are complete current, address any identified training needs, and the verify the effectiveness of the training in achieving DHS goals.

My responsibilities included: -Monitoring CCTV for area anomalies-Performing security patrols of designated areas on foot and/or in vehicle-Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards-Rapid Response Force Team member responsible for sounding alarms and responding to the presence of unauthorized persons -Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking or carrying forbidden articles-Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitors entrances and exits-Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure that authorized removal of property is conducted within appropriate client requirements-Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities
