John Wilkerson has worked in International Education since January, 2006. He serves as Associate Vice President for International Services at Indiana University. He previously served as Assistant Vice President for International Services and Executive Director of International Admissions at Indiana University. Prior to assuming his role with Indiana University, Wilkerson served as Director of the Office of International Admissions at the University of Missouri, as Director of Study Abroad for the Missouri School of Journalism, and as Director of Admissions for Columbia College in Columbia, Missouri. He holds bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Sociology, earned a Master of Education in Psychological Counseling, and completed doctoral studies in Global Education Policy. Wilkerson has served in various leadership roles with NAFSA: The Association of International Educators, the Council of International Schools, College Board, as Vice President of Admissions/Enrollment Practices with the International Association of College Admissions Counseling, National Admissions Practices Committee with the National Association of College Admissions Counseling (NACAC), and the University Advisory Board of CIALFO. He currently serves on the board of trustees with the International Career & College Counselling (IC3) non-profit organization, the Admissions Advisory Board of Duolingo English Test (DET), and the Transitions Working Group with CIS. Additionally, Wilkerson works selectively as a consultant to universities to enhance international student and scholars enrollment and support.
