Jiawei Chen is an Assistant Professor of Finance in the Department of Accounting, Finance, and Economics at the University of West Alabama. His research and teaching focus on topics in corporate finance. He has taught finance and economics sections, including Financial Management, International Financial Management, Financial Markets and Institutions, Equity Investments, and Principles of Economics. As a teacher, he aims to provide the best education to his students by stimulating their interests, developing their critical thinking abilities, and helping them prepare for their future careers. As a researcher, he seeks to continuously produce high-quality research that focuses on (1) insider trading behavior in the firm, (2) investors' behavior in the market, (3) SEC regulation, and (4) corporate innovation. His research has received significant attention and has been presented at national and international conferences, including the Financial Management Association, Southern Finance Association, Southwestern Finance Association, and the Association of Private Enterprise Education.
