Jill A. Brown (Ph.D., Strategic Management, University of Georgia), is The Hieken Professor of Business Ethics and Professor of Management at Bentley University and Director of the part-time Executive PhD program. Her scholarly interests include ethics, corporate social responsibility, corporate governance, social entrepreneurship and strategic leadership. Brown’s work has been published in many journals, including Organization Science, Journal of Business Ethics, Business Ethics Quarterly, Journal of Management Studies, Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice, California Management Review, And MIT Sloan Management Review, to name a few. She is the former co-editor of the Business & Society journal, as well as former Associate Editor for Corporate Governance: An International Review, and former Section Editor for the Journal of Business Ethics. Brown is a past Division Chair for the Social Issues in Management Division (SIM) of the Academy of Management-- a 2000+ membership dedicated to issues of business and society. She is also co-author of the 11th edition of the Cengage textbook Business & Society: Ethics, Sustainability and Stakeholder Management with Archie Carroll (University of Georgia). Prior to her career in academe, Jill was a commercial banker and consultant. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses and provides executive education in strategic leadership, ethics and CSR. She has served in leadership roles at Bentley including MBA Director and Faculty Advisor for the Hoffman Center for Business Ethics.
