I work with several children in a range of educational and developmental areas. This has included homeschooling and tutoring children of various ages. I have home-schooled students in math and science and tutored children that were new to the United States. I currently provide developmental support and daily care for a child born with hydrocephalus. I am responsible for collaborating with the physical therapist, occupational therapist, vision therapist, and speech language pathologist to provide optimal developmental learning. I am also responsible for providing educational support to two children (ages 10 and 15) with learning disabilities. I do this by selecting, developing and implementing appropriate curricula to promote understanding and engage learners. I also research educational resources and implement technological approaches for presenting subject material. Once I have evaluated their performance and I work cooperatively with parents and therapists to encourage student progress. In addition to working with the children, I maintain an assortment of documentation, including student records, time sheets, and procurement forms.

As a science teacher, I not only help answer questions, I inspired students to seek out the answers for themselves. Through lab experiments, field trips, mixed media materials and computer research, I encouraged students to explore the natural world around them and learn new and evolving scientific theories.I was responsible for preparing class lesson plans based on the current guidelines and grade level. This includes daily instruction outlines, classroom assignments, special projects, homework, and tests. I updated student records to show attendance, grades, and conduct in accordance to school, district, and state policies. I also observed and evaluated each student’s performance. At times, parent and student conferences were conducted to discuss student progress or concerns. I have excellent written and verbal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues. As a science teacher I must be detail oriented, effective at problem solving, and have excellent teaching skills. I was also responsible for administering appropriate disciplinary action as allowed by district guidelines. Outside the classroom, I participated in the department and school district meetings. I was also highly involved in extracurricular activities, such as athletics (volleyball, basketball, and swimming) and social events.

As a small business owner my job duties ran the gamut from hiring staff to arranging financing. In general, I was responsible for the growth, stability, direction and everyday operations of the business. Additional job duties included everything from a business plan to marketing and sales plans. I also created sales displays and stocked the shelves.

In this retail management position I was responsible for the financial success and smooth operation of the business, as well as the resolution of any customer situations. I was also responsible for interviewing, hiring and training all new workers

As the manager I assisted both store customers and design clients, orchestrated advertisements to reach customers throughout the region, organized various office procedures and updated the filing and inventory systems. I was also responsible for overseeing functions vital to the store, such as, billing, payroll, time schedules, purchase orders, work orders, etc. In addition, I designed store displays to creatively engage the customers while maintaining store safely by following government guidelines.
