I have more than 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry (since 1985), including 20 years in the non–profit sector and 14 years in the commercial sector. I am currently the CEO of ASCIA, the peak professional organisation for allergy and immunology in Australia and New Zealand.After completing a BSc degree from the University of Western Australia and a Graduate Diploma in Business, I moved from Perth to Sydney in 1988 to work for Pharmacia Diagnostics as Product Manager, then Marketing Manager in 1991 and International Consultant in 1995. Between 1997 and 1999 I consulted for other medical companies in the areas of business development, marketing, project management, regulatory work and communications.In my work with ASCIA since 1999, I have managed the organisation through a significant period of growth, which has included the development of a large number of world standard programs and resources. These include the ASCIA website and ASCIA educational resources since 1999, ASCIA annual conferences since 2006 and ASCIA e-training courses since 2010. Other special projects initiated by ASCIA include AIFA (Allergy and Immunology Foundation of Australasia) since 2013, National Allergy Strategy since 2014 and the National Immunodeficiency Strategy which commenced development in 2019. ASCIA work relies on paid staff and contractors, as well as voluntary contributions from ASCIA members who provide expert reviews and feedback. As the ASCIA CEO I am committed to ASCIA continuing to provide world leading education, training, research and advocacy, and collaborating with other organisations and government, to help to make a difference to people with allergy and other immune diseases.I have lived in Sydney with my husband since 1988 and our two adult children also live in Sydney. In my spare time I enjoy travelling, yoga, walking, kayaking, swimming and reading.
