Postdoctoral Fellow In Chemistry
Conducted research in the area of Frustrated Lewis Pair (FLP) chemistry. The primary goal is to expand the scope of substrates available for catalytic hydrogenation, with an emphasis on new synthetic routes toward chiral amines. The development of new FLP catalysts, such as borenium cations (J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2012), may provide additional routes toward this goal. This work also spawned a collaboration with GreenCentre Canada to develop scrubbers that improve the efficiency of FLP hydrogenation catalysts.
