I was Financial Controller for Applegreen PLC who operates several chains of convenience stores in South Carolina, Florida, the Midwest and in the Northeast. I supervised the area Finance Managers for each region and their related departments such as Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. I also supervised Treasury functions and helped create a cash projection worksheet that Corporate in Ireland integrated into their cash projections as we were all dealing with the unknown effects of the Covid epidemic. I was responsible for Balance Sheet review and the monthly closing process.Applegreen (USA) changed their accounting software and I helped them in the transition. As part of that transition, they also outsourced most accounting functions to that software provider and thus eliminated my position.

- Managed General Accounting, Accounts Payable and Receivable, Treasury, Risk Management and Financial Analysis (Budgeting and Financial Reporting).- Oversaw growth and challenges as Shealy revenues grew from $65 million (five locations) to $220 million (seventeen locations).- Evaluated potential acquisitions, performed due diligence for and coordinated integration on five separate acquisitions (the largest of which was a company with revenues of $65 million).- Increased gross margin percentage several points due to pricing matrix implementation and non- stock sales reporting and initiatives.- Coordinated openings of new locations.- Coordinated annual audits by outside accountants and facilitated Board of Director Meetings.
