I gained understanding of the hundreds of various supported teller payment transactions through ANSI, ISO 8583, 3270 data streams, and delimiter separated message structures. Bisync communication gave way to SNA (lu0, lu2) during this time for most teller applications, but Async and X.25 were most common with POS terminal and mail applications. SNA and X.25 were most common with hosts and payment interchange networks. -
