I am currently the portfolio leader accountable for the revenue growth, strategic vision and investment of all financial institution fraud management solutions within ACI On Demand, our cloud-based fraud management solution.
  • Aci Worldwide
Principal Solution Consultant, Payments Risk Solutions
    Aci Worldwide Apr 2008 - Jul 2017
    Greater Omaha Area
After 7 years in product management, I felt the need to get back to a customer facing roll. I initially moved into a sales support roll focused on ACI's infrastructure and tools: communication connectivity, fault tolerant middle-ware, web service enablement, PCI Security, DR and real-time data movement, payment testing tools, as well as payment application monitoring. More recently, I'm focused on payment risk management, fraud detection, and anti money laundering solutions for financial institutions and processors..
  • Aci Worldwide
Manager Product Management, Aci Infrastructure And Tools
    Aci Worldwide May 2005 - Mar 2008
    Omaha, Nebraska
As object oriented design made its way to service oriented architecture, ACI's Commerce Framework strategy lead me to a position responsible for the foundation on which our payment solutions are built. Our sister company, Insession Technologies, was folded into ACI as I became an SOA evangelist both internally and externally. We doubled our secure web service and SOA customers within the first two years, and began to expand the use of Java and open source technologies within ACI to expedite our time to market and provide common security and user experience functions across multiple products. My staff and I were responsible for 16 strategic products, mature products, reseller partner agreements, as well as for building a strategic SOA infrastructure upon which all future ACI products could be built upon or leverage as services.
  • Aci Worldwide
Senior Product Manager, Aci Commerce Framework
    Aci Worldwide May 2004 - May 2005
    Omaha, Nebraska
Through acquisition and R&D efforts, ACI now had over 40 products. My role as the ACI Commerce Framework product manager was to create a strategy to remove redundant features and to integrate the products where necessary to create a cohesive more powerful solution than the sum of its parts. This strategy was achieved through technical development language, platform and middle-ware rationalization as well as business functions of card generation, authorization, authentication, settlement, billing, fraud detection, risk analysis, security, and chip card management.
  • Aci Worldwide
Senior Product Manager, Internet And Mobile Solutions
    Aci Worldwide Mar 2001 - May 2004
Singapore | Clearwater, Florida | Omaha, Nebraska
Repatriating back to the US, I took on global product management responsibilities for ACI's Internet and Wireless division, which was based out of Clearwater Florida. While my familiarity with the global sales force and delivery channels throughout the world worked to my advantage, this was an equally exciting and exhausting roll travelling the globe during the "dot com" era with ACI's message of e-commerce, mobile wallets, and vision of the future of payments. I worked with the large card payment brands, telcos, and financial institutions to define standards and deliver a range of dynamic internet and mobile payment solutions - many of which are still in place today.
  • Aci Worldwide
    E-Commerce Program Manager
    Aci Worldwide Feb 2000 - Feb 2001
    Singapore
As ACI began to diversify its payment solutions and platforms, I moved from channel delivery to channel sales taking a marketing/sales support role as program manager of our internet banking and internet payment solutions. These solutions were comprised of OEM, partner and ACI acquired products. Responsibilities included packaging, pricing, messaging, collateral, and sales training for our ACI staff as well as our distributors. Perhaps the most challenging aspect of this role was creating messages for mature yet diverse payment markets such as Japan and Australia while also addressing the emerging markets of equally diverse China and Asean.
  • Aci Worldwide
    Software Development Manager
    Aci Worldwide Dec 1996 - Feb 2000
    Singapore
To supplement our delivery model and provide customers with additional support, we began providing extended support packages through the use of local resources, US resources, and contractors. At its peak, I managed over 20 resources before we restructured separating contracted services from delivery services. While I was no longer slinging code, I was responsible for hiring and growing new technical talent in our Singapore office.A considerable amount of project work was conducted to prepare over 50 of ACI's Asia Pacific customers for Y2K.
  • Aci Worldwide
    Lead Engineer
    Aci Worldwide Jun 1995 - Dec 1996
    Singapore
To be appointed a lead engineer, your contributions needed to be recognized globally within ACI. Our office of 5 engineers and technical support staff had grown to over 20, but more importantly our revenue and profitability contributions were exceeding forecasts.
  • Aci Worldwide
    Senior Software Engineer
    Aci Worldwide Jun 1991 - Jul 1995
    Omaha, Nebraska | Singapore
My reputation for building quality payment interfaces brought me to an elite development group within ACI that specialized on gathering customer business requirements and delivering software that met their requirements. Interaction with customers, their external partners, hardware and software vendors, as well as internal product and project managers allowed me to architect, build and deliver complex payment solutions to financial institutions and payment networks throughout the US.After 7 years in Omaha developing and delivering retail payment solutions throughout the United States, I accepted the challenge to take our delivery model to our Asia/Pacific channel. Our international sales success had created a bit of a revenue bottleneck, and I was tasked to build a delivery team in Asia that rivaled the group I was leaving in Omaha.Among the many concurrent delivery projects that I lead through go-live was a large US bank who simultaneously rolled out our integrated ATM and POS payment solutions, in Hong Kong, India, Philippines, Singapore and Taiwan. Apart from that extraordinarily complex project, the majority of our projects and go-lives were throughout the Asean region.
  • Aci Worldwide
    Software Engineer
    Aci Worldwide Jan 1989 - Jun 1991
    Omaha, Nebraska
My time as a software engineer was spent cranking out code. I focused on developing interfaces from a wide range of branch teller devices and controllers into our BASE24-teller payment application. Knowledge of the device hardware, its message interface, protocol communication, and middle-ware was honed to develop these custom BASE24 interfaces. I gained understanding of the hundreds of various supported teller payment transactions through ANSI, ISO 8583, 3270 data streams, and delimiter separated message structures. Bisync communication gave way to SNA (lu0, lu2) during this time for most teller applications, but Async and X.25 were most common with POS terminal and mail applications. SNA and X.25 were most common with hosts and payment interchange networks.
  • Aci Worldwide
    Associate Software Engineer
    Aci Worldwide Jun 1987 - Jan 1989
    Omaha, Nebraska
As a newbie software developer at ACI, I learned the ropes of the Tandem fault tolerant hardware platform enhancing and upgrading ACI's BASE24-teller, BASE24-mail, and BASE24-pcs (an application ticket/monitoring solution). Over these years, I soaked in knowledge of the Guardian operating system, ACI's fault tolerant XPNET middle-ware and wide range of software utilities, while developing my TAL and COBOL development language skills. My journey into high volume, highly available payment solutions began.
